Low scn:

    Hdr: 151647 6.0.34.2.1 RDBMS 6.0.34.2.1 PRODID-5 PORTID-58 ORA-600
    Abstract: ORA-600 [2608] [502] [128] [128] [20480] [] WHILE RECOVERING A DATAFILE

Our customer was testing their backup/recovery method.
They took a backup of the database and made the recovery as follows:
    1) startup dba mount
    2) connect internal
    3) alter database datafile ‘xxx’ online
    4) recover datafile ‘xxx’
    5) They issued the log that sqldba asked.
    6) While recovering the first log they got the error:
    ORA-600 [2608] [502] [128] [128] [20480] [] and
    ORA-7373 with additional info 502 and 5632.
They are running rdbms version 6.0.34.2.1 and Ultrix version
4.2A (rev. 47). The database is up now but they were not able to recover
    the database.
They are using one database writer process.
I’ll copy the trace file + alert log file into bug$ and the redo log
file into temp$ (bug$ does not have enough space for a 10M logfile).

The trace and alert files are in bug$: directory and
the redo logfile is in temp$:
    directory
    (file name SAVOTK_RLOG_1335.BCK).

Shouldn’t this go to the rdbms group directly?

Changing this to a generic bug. If it is a generic bug that has been fixed,
then this tar should reference the generic bug.

what info do you want ?

The 2608 is simply reporting that the osd to read a redo log got some sort
of error. In this case the error is ORA-7373. This is a port specific problem.

Well that error actually means that there was an error in the read, so I think
that either the archiving went wrong (out of disk space?) or the db corrupted
    the archival (ora-600?)
There’s really nothing to do in my side…
07373, 00000, “sfrfb: read returned incorrect number of bytes.”
// *Cause: Possible truncated read of database file. Additional information
// returns block number and actual number of bytes read.
// *Action: Check block number and number of bytes read.

This situation was detected by and generated by the port specific code. If
it is not a bug then change its status. In any case it is not a generic
problem. Maybe the error should be more specific?

All I can tell is that the log got corrupted during writing or reading, so
I would check uerf log, if we cannot reproduce the problem there’s really
    nothing I can do.
